Tonight, Tonight

Been so busy / tired lately. If I could sleep for 3 days I would.

Makayla snapped into this new "i just want to hang out" mode. Now that she's learning to crawl and hold out her arms to guilt you into picking her up. She used to entertain herself.. and go to bed by herself. Ugh. It's sweet but stressful at the same time.

I had Friday off because we met our deadline and launched our new product on Thursday. Relaxed on Friday and did nothing. Had some left-over pizza. Saturday we went to lunch with Mike at Steak n' Shake. Ran into our friend Britt too on the way out. Was a good parting. It always rains when Mike is here. And we always go to Steak n' Shake. So it rained at the restaurant to make tradition.

Sunday we went to breakfast at "First Watch" with her parents... which is a breakfast/buffet place. Was pretty good. They serve crêpe's and I wanted one but I got confused on the menu and defaulted to something I knew I liked. Poop. Well, not poop. It was a 3 cheese omelette. 

Today I went to work and got a chunk of a video done. Gotta move forward tomorrow to finish it by Wednesday (?!?)

Well, I'm tired. G'night.

Chlorination

Saw Mike on Thursday.. got to go home a few hours early so we could hang out longer. Hung out for about 4 or 5 hours. Had dinner. He left the waiter like a $20 tip. Very kind of him. I also got some video of him playing hula-hoop on Wii Fit. Priceless footage. I expect to see him one last time before he goes to NY.

Friday I went into work at 5am and got a lot done. Left at 4:30 because I had to be across town earlier than I would have gotten home. But 11 hours isn't so bad. Got a new trimmer / edger combo today. It's just battery powered (cheap) but when it has a good charge it goes pretty good for about 15 minutes. I'm letting it charge all night and see how well it works tomorrow morning (being fathers day) - but that's okay. Have to mow the back lawn and get rid of all the weeds. 

Something massive got set forward at work so on Monday I will be going in again around 4:30 am. Possibly Tuesday and/or Wednesday as well. At least I know those 3 days are going to be STRESS.

Don't have much more to report except today Makayla went swimming for the first time. We dunked her and stuff. Basically you blow in her face so she holds her breath and dunk real fast. She splashes a lot and keeps her eyes shut tight. It made me LOL for a second. After about 20 minutes she got a little fussy and ready to get out. We're going to get a floaty ring for her soon.

Now Makayla has been sitting in my lap and dying to type something so here we go: (I hope she doesn't rip another key off)

Officially.

I am tired. Just physically. My friend Mike is coming over on Thursday. I can't wait. Got back from Iraq a few weeks ago and just got back from Texas. Going to try to go home early to hang out.

Did yard work today. I need a weed-whacker and an edger. PRONTO. Our neighborhood is going to fine us if we don't fix our lawn soon :p. It's taking over the street.

Can't think of anything else to say. Rather uneventful weekend. Just stayed home most the time, which is good. I just can't wait for payday.

Freakin' Sucks

Universal Studios: Hollywood burns.

The blaze began around 4:45 a.m. (7:45 a.m. ET) and was contained initially by 9 a.m. Throughout the morning, large plumes of black smoke rose as the fire burned the vault containing hundreds of videos, said Ron Meyer, chief operating officer of Universal Studios.

"Fortunately, nothing irreplaceable was lost," Meyer said. "The video library was affected and damaged, but our main vault of our motion picture negatives was not. "

The set of "The Changeling," a film recently directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Angelina Jolie, was "completely destroyed," Meyer said.

Another area called "Courthouse Square" also was destroyed, Meyer said. Numerous movies have been shot in that area, including several scenes of the 1985 hit "Back to the Future," Meyer said.

And two of the eight locations used by the CBS series "Ghost Whisperer" were affected, he said.Fire inspectors had not determined what caused the blaze, said Los Angles County Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman. There were no reports of filming at the time of the fire.

Harleys and Grocery Carts

So this weekend was pretty productive. I'm just watching Oswald right now. I think it's the most boring kids show. It's up there with the sleepiness of Little Bear. I'm not watching the shows just because I want to. Makayla saw grandpa today and slept on him for a good hour. She's going to be up all night. Darn it.

Yesterday we went to the grocery store. Makayla sat in the seat for the first time! really cute in there. I only got a cell phone pic.

Courtney rode a Harley today. Holy crap I didn't expect her to do that. Well, she went with my dad to pick up dinner at Outback. Her first time on a bike... pretty cool for her. I remember when I was a kid and we used to ride around the front yard on the Harley. Good times. Courtney actually got to go somewhere X(

Have to go to work tomorrow :( That sucks.

Oh yea and Mike is coming back to FL really soon. Should be cool to see him even though we're broke. Poo.
