Calm Before The Storm...

When I was young I used to sit with my Mom in the guest bedroom and watch the good storms roll in with the window open, lights out. Everything is so calm. There is a cool breeze in my face. Lightning dances across the sky. There is nothing else. Just you, the storm and the ones you love. Makayla and I continued this ritual tonight. We watched a good storm come in from the North. We both just watched. Waiting for it to beat down upon us. Makayla didn't make a noise. Neither did I. She eventually went to sleep and I was left with my thoughts.

Storm is getting closer, I fear. I don't know what to expect and what to prepare for. Drops of rain begin to fall as if to try to warn me. As if the approaching roars of thunder are not enough.

I hope we are ready to whether this burly storm.

Bleh.

I'm having a bad day this morning. I hope it gets better ):

Quick Update!

Just updating the bloggy a bit. Been working workin workin.

Almost all moved in. 3 rooms are still unfurnished. One will remain unfurnished until we have another baby. Going to get a new couch for our living room, then we will do our family room. When we get an new TV in May we are going to put some stuff up in the loft. (HD + BLU-RAY) - Thank you gov. [Courtney doesn't know about the TV thing so shh]. Before all this I need to hang up all the photos and stuff still. Also some stupid kids have been walking through my yard and one puked in it at like 11pm last night. I should run after them with the garden hose next time like a crazy person. Or shake a cat at them or something. LOIALFAKDFLKA is what I will say.

Makayla just got her ears pierced on Saturday. Little pink diamond studs. She looks 3 months older. She's been flipping over in the mornings now. No pics yet, sorry. The doctor is shocked at her progress except for she can't roll over. She stands, jumps, dances, laughs, holds her head up... talks... a lot. She tries to sit up now. I suspect she might say DA DA soon. :p Oh yea, she's eating baby food now too. Veggies. Mmm Mmm Mmm...

I guess it's officially April 1st too... don't think I'll pull any pranks this year.. well maybe.. Speaking of April... my Uncle Matt is coming, but before that my grandparents are coming. They can't wait to meet Makayla and see the house.

Oh yea, I updated my blog look a little. Courtney wants me to update more often so I shall try. Perhaps I will see you tomorrow evening.

Unpacking....

Well we got all moved in. Sort of. Our IKEA furniture has been severely delayed and we might not get it for another week. So we don't have a kitchen/breakfast table or family room furniture. Or Courtney's desk.. or computer chairs. Or stuff for the loft.. lol.

We have time to grow into the house. We love the house / neighborhood. We still have a few boxes to go.. and 0 decorations put up! Ah! Gotta mow the lawn at some point too. We got lots to do still. Eventually I want to do some yard work and make the yard look nicer. I don't want to be "those people" that don't care for their yard.

Makayla is getting big. And smart. She is deliberately moving her hands and playing with toys.. chewing on stuff. She used to do stuff on accident but now she has purpose in her actions! And she's starting to talk. I'm excited now but when she learns the word "no" I'll miss her quiet days.

Some pictures of her from February...

Quick Update

Just a quick update. We're moving to Winter Garden in 1 week! Getting a 4,500 sqft 3 story house with 5 bedrooms, a den and a loft and an office. 2 kitchens...

just kidding. 4 bed 3 bath 2 story house! We're excited but have a lot of freakin' stuff to do before we go! Been packing. I always forget how much computer crap and cables I can't get rid of (I need every now and then).

Anyways for V-Day I made this video:

Quick Post.

Honestly, I should be in bed by now. Just couldn't wait to post my new video online.

I must say, being a father is GREAT so far. I love that child more than anything and I will sacrifice anything for her (and Courtney).

She is beginning to "talk" and notice more things now. She watches movement and plays with bright objects. Follows moving objects and can sometimes even grab at the things she's interested in. She copies us from time to time, usually sticking her tongue out or something. She chills out in her swing just looking around most of the day. Loves her bottles still and isn't as attached to her paci as some babies. She can hold her head up really well and is in the beginning stages of self realization (I believe).

We are going to teach her baby sign language, or at least try to next month.

So happy new year. 2007 is over. Now we concentrate on 2008 and getting a house! I'll leave you with this awesome video.

Wrapping up 2007

So we were thinking about the year. 2007 is a year I'll never forget. We moved out in March... found out we were pregnant 2 weeks later... got married and had a baby. Holy crap. Coincidently I turn 21 tomorrow. Yay!

So the first month has been pretty good with Makayla. She sleeps through most of the night. Eats around 11.. then again at about 4 and doesn't get up again till about 7 or 8. I get most my sleep.. not too tired during the days. A little out of it but not bad.  She got a little bit of a head cold this week but she's getting better.

Going places is a lot harder than it used to be. Can't just get up and go. Have to take turns getting ready then have to get the baby ready. 30-45 minutes! Crazy. Things are just a bit more complicated now and we're steadily getting medical bills... which is "fun".
A lot has happened this year and I can't imagine what this next year is going to bring.  All I know now is I look forward to my birthday tomorrow and Christmas.

We're going to try going to dinner with Makayla tomorrow night. Hopefully she is good like usual. Going to in-laws on Christmas Eve and my parents on the big day. We've got some driving to do :p

I'll leave you with some Christmas pictures to set the spirit!
