Delivery Room

We got to the hospital at 4 this morning. We got a bed around 5 or 5:30. Got situated around 6 and now we're just waiting. I hear Makayla's heartbeat and I can watch Courtney's contractions come and go. Last night I only got about an hour of sleep. From like 1 to 2 or so.

This is the point of no return and it's really, really scary. I'm going to have my baby tonight. Scary as hell, right? Me, father? lol.

Okay. I don't want to spend too much time on the computer because I want to spend it with Courtney.. just have some "quiet time" right now. I can't believe this is happening!

Post - Long weekend

It was a good long weekend. Sat on our butt's and didn't really do anything. It was our last weekend to relax, for sure. We will definitely have our baby this week. The night after thanksgiving we went to The Melting Pot for our last dinner out. Had some good food. Saturday I took Courtney to Target so she could get some Christmas shopping done and I went to Borders and looked at some design books. I found a book that has a whole bunch of ad's from the 1950's. That stuff amazes me because everything is hand drawn, including the typography. I would be interested in having one of these books. Anyways, so then I cleaned my car and put the car seat in. The car seat thing is weird but I'll get used to it.

Today we cleaned the apartment and put up the Christmas tree. To me it's officially Christmas time... and my birthday is less than a month away so that's something to look forward to!

Successful Thanksgiving

I'd say that this was a successful Thanksgiving. Went to my in-laws and stuffed my face. Had some good turkey and stuffing and potatoes and stuff. After that went to may parents and surprised them. They didn't think we were coming so that made them really happy. Ate a little more and then came home. I had an appointment with my bathroom.

Good ending to a good day. Watching the Incredibles now on NBC. There is a commercial every 5 minutes but that's okay.

We have less than 1 week before the baby comes! Crazy!!

Tomorrow we're going to clean the apartment and put up the Christmas tree. I'll probably wash my car too. Thinking about seeing the new National Treasure movie this weekend too before all the craziness.

I can't believe it!

Just kidding. That's not ours. But that's how we feel. We're still waiting. Courtney is really upset that she still hasn't had the baby. We've been hoping to have her for about a week now and knowing that it could potentially go on for about 12 more days is killing her. US. Knowing the way that life seems to function, we will probably have Makayla next week around ThanksGiving when we don't want to be in the hospital. The only day we don't want to be there, we will probably be there.

Courtney is really stressed out. Doesn't like to travel. Bored all the time. Can't do the things we usually like do. Plus there are no good movies in the theaters!

Just a bit of info: Today is Courtney's due date according to her last period/date of conception. Doctor did the due date based on measurements early on and he set it for the 23rd. If we're not in the hospital by the 29th he will induce on the 30th. He says it's a week but we see it as 2 extra weeks. Two extra weeks of hell. We just want her water to break :(

In other news we got our first Christmas tree and some ornaments. Can't wait to own a house and decorate outside. It will be a little plain this year but oh well. I can rest easy knowing that by Christmas we will definitely have the baby. For sure.

Next post I make will probably be from the hospital with the for real picture of the baby.

2 or 3 more weeks!

I'm awake. Can't sleep.. geeking out about "Leopard", CS3 and iLife '08. So I'm up consolidating files on my laptop so I can wipe it clean and start over with some new software and a new OS. My laptop seems to be getting slower by the months but it still runs hard for me. Getting iLife from a friend named "Demonoid". So far it's been downloading for 24 hours and I have about 13 to go so by lunch tomorrow I should have it! At which point I will have all my crap saved somewhere and Leopard ready to install!

Sorry geek moment.

Courtney is doing well. She's kind of mad because the doc said she's not dilated in the slightest yet. We expect baby Makayla sometime around Thanksgiving still. Believe me though, she's going to try every trick in the book to have her early! Most of her clothes are washed and I even took the swing out to leave in the living room. Sort of a reminder of how little time of "peace and quiet" we have left. I'm happy though. We also got her car fixed up, apartment carpet deep cleaned, kitchen organized (there are 2 cabinets full to the brink with baby stuff), baby stuff assembled and the hospital bag packed.

Work stuff is going alright. Had a lot of progress on Friday and Monday then the entire network crashed. Oh JOY. I was down at the end of Monday and most of Tuesday. Today we decided to try and install the new Mac operating system 10.5 (or Leopard) onto one of the machines and wound up just wasting our time. We're not going to mess with it for a little while now. Have to meet a Friday deadline because Brian will be out on Mon/Tue. Friday our new designer, Amanda comes in to fill out paperwork, claim her cubicle and go pee in a cup. Yay for drug tests. Monday she officially starts and I will now have time to concentrate on bigger stuff that's going on at the company. Woohoo! Now let's just see if she sticks around...

The next few weeks are full of adventure. I can see it already.

Medic!

Been playing Team Fortress 2.. lots of fun. That and the combination of Portal and Half-Life Episode 2.. been busy gaming. We're going to try to build up [EASY] clan again. They tried to do it with Battlefield 2 but it's just not as fun.

On the work side we had a couple of interviews with some really good potential designers and have another one tomorrow. Hopefully we can reach a decision by Friday and bring them in the next week or two. Courtney lost her first football game poll this week. She is now tied with somebody else in the office.

Last last Sunday (the 4th) I saw Mike. He came over and we hung out. Played Wii and watched my Small Hours movie. Got some lunch and stuff. Was a good day for just hanging out. This last weekend we watched Courtney's sister and had a work baby-shower for us. It was interesting. We had a game where there was candy bars melted into diapers and you had to guess the type of candy. Got lots of good stuff and later on we bought the rest of the stuff we had on our list. We now have everything we need to start off. This Wednesday we have a newborn care class and by this weekend we hope to have everything in order for Makayla. This means getting Courtney's Neon back in good working condition ($$$) and deep cleaning the house and Makayla's stuff. We only have a month to go and Court is hoping to go into labor in a few weeks. Some speculation says that she is "dropping" and should go into labor early. We're getting a lot of attention in public places now too. Well, she is. "When are you due? Is it your first one? Boy or Girl?" That's about the gist of the conversations.

Ah well. It's late and I should get some sleep.

Go Patriots!

So Courtney has had an undefeated score with the football poll at work. Tonights game isn't set in stone yet but She picked the New England Patriots and so far we're doing good. 24 - 10.

So tonight we went out to Gators Dockside with some work friends and watched the game. I'm not a huge football fan but it's interesting and fun to watch a game. Especially when your teams always seems to be winning :p

In other news Mike should be here around Thursday or Friday. Still trying to figure out what to do while he's here.

Not sure what else to report. Court has her work baby shower on the 13th. Might be able to get more of what we need from that.. we're almost stocked up :d

Well thanks for reading (:
