We got a 3D ultrasound today. This was scary for two reasons. There is a lot more detail in a 3D ultrasound than there is in a traditional ultrasound. We we're about to find out if it was a girl for sure. More importantly we we're about to find if there was anything wrong with the babies growth. My mother-in-law had a friend that had that done and found out that her babies brain was growing on the outside of her head. That's horrible. They had to terminate.
The first thing we found out was that she is in fact a girl! That was a relief. We already bought too much stuff to return it all. It seems that would be the least of our worries but fact is she is healthy and very very cute. We had a 30 minute session which included 11 photos and a DVD of the whole thing. We discovered that Makayla likes to keep her right foot by her head with her toe in her eye at times. I don't know how she keeps her foot up there. Another thing she does is keeps her left hand on her face. The tech said that this is a sign she might be left handed. It's very likely because I'm left handed. Left handed people are usually creative so this made me really excited. We've got the dvd and I promise to cut it up and post a shorter quicktime or youtube video of it. We've got video of her yawning, kicking (herself in the head), smiling and opening her eyes. Some other stuff too. She's cute. We got 102 photos I posted 98 because I'm not sure what to cut out yet. Here's the gallery.
Also have some news about work stuff. We're going to launch a new product next year and we will be hiring some new designers. Probably somebody straight out of college that doesn't have much experience. Also my manager left on Friday and will be taking on some of his responsibilities. Therefore, I am now a manager as of yesterday. I now have managerial benefits like a 60 minute lunch and I get to be in the manager meetings and such. Those are kind of boring but I can help determine the direction of the company. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I am going to manage people and I don't want to be a jerk or bad at it. All in all I'm happy I got the promotion and I feel I deserved it. I didn't get a pay raise and I don't expect one because I already got one this year :p
I have a lot of work ahead of me!

She is absolutely adorable. I am very relieved that nothing horrible is happening to her like your Aunt's friend. That must be indescribably painful.
I want to be left-handed now that I know they're more creative!
That first part made me cry a bit. :(
